Limestone water, iron hoops, and time
Our partner distillery sits on a limestone shelf south of Louisville, where the water runs hard with calcium and free of iron — the accident of geology that made Kentucky the centre of American whiskey.
Everything is still done the slow way. Sour mash fermentation in cypress, distillation on a copper doubler, and maturation in rickhouses with no climate control, so every barrel is shaped by the weather of the years it slept through.

Our Story
We only sell what we would open ourselves
Velmont Bourbon House began as a private cellar and an argument about which barrels were worth keeping. We were tired of paying secondary prices for bottles with no paperwork and no provenance.
So we built the opposite: a small house that buys through licensed channels, records every barrel and batch, inspects every fill level, and refuses anything it cannot stand behind. If a bottle is not right, it does not go on the shelf.
